The Division of Outreach and Continuing Education Office of Marketing and Communication is looking for students to assist with social media marketing. This position will provide professional experience in social media platforms, posting, policy, and ethics. Students will work under the direction of the Digital Content Specialist to carry out tasks related to the Division’s 60+ social media accounts.

Paid positions are available for each academic year. 

Primary tasks may include:

  • Photographing program events and activities
  • Capturing video of program participants in candid and studio settings
  • Writing original content that relates to programmatic goals
  • Scheduling content to post on Division social media accounts
  • Finding quality content for social accounts using web resources
  • Assisting in Division photo and video shoots as needed
  • Participating in brainstorming meetings with the social media team
  • Completing additional related tasks as assigned

Our preferred candidate will have:

  • A strong academic transcript
  • Basic photography skills, including experience with a DSLR camera
  • Basic video skills, including experience with video-editing software
  • Basic design skills, including experience with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva/Adobe Express
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Previous work experience, preferably related to marketing or media

Time commitment and hours:
We expect students to work 20 hours per week on a flexible schedule. Night and weekend work will frequently be required. While we intend to provide a weekly schedule to our students, the nature of this position may require changes in schedule with short notice.
