The Division of Outreach and Continuing Education Office of Marketing and Communications is looking for student interns to help with digital marketing tasks during fall, spring, and summer semesters. Outreach internships offer the opportunity to gain experience in a number of skills related to digital marketing and social media management. Students will work under the direction of the Assistant Director of Digital Strategy to carry out tasks related to the Division’s diverse program offerings.

Possible project themes include:

  • Research — focus groups, surveys, white papers
  • Street team — content capture at events, exhibition strategy and execution
  • Videography — interviews, teasers, editing, storyboarding
  • Photography — shooting events, headshots, editing, organization
  • Design — campaign design, digital manipulation, infographics, social ads
  • Content — writing, curating on a theme, evaluating photograph/video
  • Social media — campaign strategy, posting, account management

Our preferred candidate will have:

  • A strong academic transcript including courses in journalism, IMC, marketing, and/or a related field.
  • Defined interest(s) to pursue during internship.
  • A clear understanding of departmental internship requirements (if interning for academic credit).

This is a flexible, project-based internship where the student and supervisor will review student goals and strengths and decide on a list of assigned projects and deadlines based on the number of credit hours the student hopes to earn.
