Outreach Events and Services Student Worker

The Division of Outreach and Continuing Education Office of Events and Services is looking for students to help with conference functions. This position will provide experience in event logistics, organization, and time management while offering the opportunity to work with a growing team.

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Assist the set up and removal of conference materials
  • Accommodate needs of University and private events
  • Drive passengers to and/or from the Memphis International Airport
  • Prepare beverage service and prep for catering deliveries
  • Shuttle faculty to and from University extension campuses

Essential Functions:
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

  1. Drive to University and non-University locations approximately 1 hour from the Oxford campus
  2. Work as early as 5:00 AM or as late as 12:00 AM
  3. Work any day of the week
  4. Lift up to 50 pounds to a height of 36 inches unassisted (items may include filled coolers, tables, chairs, heavy luggage, etc.)

Requirements
We encourage you to apply if you meet all of the following:

  • Are currently enrolled at the University of Mississippi, another college or university, or at a local high school
  • Have a valid driver’s license
