Students will participate in a week of classes on the Oxford campus from May 15th-19th with specific times and locations determined by the instructors. During the travel portion of the course, students will be transported roundtrip from Oxford to Nashville, TN; Washington, DC; Baltimore, MD; and Atlanta, GA via a coach bus. This travel will take place between May 21st and 26th.

This program is intended for students who are interested in healthcare, African-American history, and/or medical professions. All participants must be enrolled through the Health Professions Advising Office and pursuing admission to a professional school.

Students are responsible for their own travel within Oxford. All travel for this course outside Oxford is included in the program cost. Students will travel via coach bus from Oxford to Nashville, on to Washington and Baltimore (where transportation on the Metro will be provided), then back to Oxford via Atlanta on a coach bus.

The Study USA program fee is $1,200. Included in the program fee are housing, roundtrip transportation from Oxford, course related transportation during travel, and select group meals. Excluded from the cost are most meals and personal spending money.

Outreach Study USA Scholarship
The Outreach Study USA Scholarship supports student participation in Study USA courses. Scholarship awards range from $500 to $750 and are designed to help offset the additional expenses associated with academic travel.

Carolyn Ellis Staton Study USA Scholarship
The Carolyn Ellis Staton Study USA Scholarship was established to increase access to unique experiential learning programs. These scholarships will help to make engaging educational travel opportunities more accessible to students with financial need. Scholarship awards range from $250 to $750 and are designed to help offset the additional expenses associated with academic travel.
