Top Oxford Students Win Big at Regional and State Science Fairs

MSEF Region VII Upper Fair and State Fair 2021 Awards Announced

PHOTO: Oxford High Senior Fawaz Ahmad brought home the "Best of Fair" prize in the senior division of the state-wide Mississippi Science Fair held virtually this month.

OXFORD, Miss. – The science fair season has been going full blast this year, even virtually. Students from across a 13-county region participated in the Region VII Mississippi Science and Engineering Fairs and the state of Mississippi Science and Engineering Fair (MSEF).

The MSEF Region VII virtual science fairs are hosted by the University of Mississippi Office of Pre-College Programs. The state-wide science fair was hosted this year by Delta State University’s Office of Continuing Education.

The MSEF Region VII Upper Fair concluded on March 24 with an awards announcement video that was sent out to all participating schools. Student projects placing first, second, and third at the regional fair advanced to the state-wide fair. Those winners were announced on April 6.
