Meet Your Instructors
All Study USA courses are designed and led by Ole Miss faculty. Your instructor(s) will be your first point of contact during your travels and lead you through all the class experiences.

Kariann Fuqua
Instructional Associate Professor/Director of Museum Studies
kfuqua@olemiss.edu
Kariann Fuqua is a practicing artist and has worked in the museum field as both a curator and gallery director. A recent solo exhibition of her work took place in New York City in 2025. She is a frequent visitor to museums wherever she travels and uses these experiences to teach both art and museum studies students the inner workings of these institutions. She has previously taught for Study USA, taking students to NYC. Ms. Fuqua is the Director of Museum Studies and teaches studio courses in drawing and painting in the Department of Art and Art History.
“I can’t wait to take students to the heart of the art world - New York. We will visit museums and galleries, so students can experience the wider world of artistic practice by seeing art in real life, tour world-class art institutions, and explore their collections.”
- Kariann Fuqua

Kaleena Stasiak
Assistant Professor of Art, Printmaking
krstasia@olemiss.edu
Kaleena Stasiak is an interdisciplinary artist who uses an assortment of mediums such as printmaking, textiles, and sculpture. Travelling and visiting museums are an important part of her art practice to fuel her research and provide inspiration. Ms. Stasiak has not previously taught for Study USA but has visited NYC often and each time the city reveals something new. Ms. Stasiak is the Area Head and Assistant Professor of Art, Printmaking in the Department of Art and Art History.
“I believe that travel and immersion in another city are integral parts of education that cannot be taught in the classroom. Witnessing these masterworks in person, placed in the context of a museum with other works, provides a unique understanding of art history. The city itself will become a classroom, expanding students’ perspectives on culture, history, and people.”
- Kaleena Stasiak
