About iStudy
iStudy at the University of Mississippi provides flexible, self-paced online learning opportunities designed to support students with diverse academic needs and schedules. Through iStudy, students can complete courses in an independent learning environment that allows them to balance academics with work, athletics, internships, personal responsibilities, medical accommodations, or unique educational pathways. Courses are taught by University of Mississippi instructors and are structured to provide students with greater access and flexibility while maintaining academic quality and integrity.
Because iStudy courses are highly independent and self-directed, this learning modality is not the best fit for every student. Success in iStudy requires strong time management, self-motivation, personal accountability, and the ability to work independently with limited structure. However, for many student populations — including nontraditional students, transfer students, working adults, student-athletes, students registered with SDS, students managing health or personal circumstances, and students with complex academic scheduling needs — iStudy can provide an important pathway for access, persistence, and degree completion. The program is committed to helping students determine whether this modality aligns with their learning needs while also providing support resources designed to help independent learners succeed.
