Project R.E.C.I.P.E. is a structured internship collaboration designed to bridge secondary culinary arts education with real-world professional experience in a higher education setting. Through a formal partnership between the Oxford High School (OHS) Culinary Arts Program and the University of Mississippi (UM) Division of Outreach Pre-College Programs, selected students will participate in hands-on culinary and professional development activities within Lenoir Dining on the UM campus. The program is designed to cultivate career readiness and expose students to restaurant management careers.

Participation in Project R.E.C.I.P.E. is limited to students who meet all of the following requirements:

  • Enrollment Status: The student must be currently enrolled as a second-year student in the Oxford High School Culinary Arts Program or previously passed the second-year course.
  • Instructor Recommendation: The student must receive a formal recommendation from their OHS Culinary Arts instructor.
  • Application: The student must fill out an application for Project R.E.C.I.P.E. through the Pre-College Programs department of the University of Mississippi Division of Outreach.
  • Commitment: The student must be able to fulfill all scheduled 3-hour internship shifts and program obligations for the duration of the term.
  • Complete the Project R.E.C.I.P.E. Registration Form and Pay Registration Fee
  • Within 3 business days, you will receive an email from umprecollege@myschoolapp.com with steps to create your account and access the Admissions Portal through our Blackbaud MySchoolApp system.
  • If already in the system, your student’s checklist will be updated to the new program checklist.
  • Complete the Project R.E.C.I.P.E. application and checklist items.
