Digital Photography 101 & Photo Walk

The class discusses camera techniques and shares composition and lighting tips that can be applied to all cameras and will help both amateur and experienced photographers make the most of photo opportunities. Former UM Director of Photography, Robert Jordan, will expand participant’s understanding of how the camera “'sees” the world differently from human eyes and how to use this knowledge to create visualized images. Robert will touch on post-production editing and enhancing images, as well as hardware options for archiving and printing.
9 a.m. to 12 p.m. will be in the classroom, then weather permitting, all are welcome to attend an optional photo walk on campus from approximately 12-1 p.m.
About the Instructor:
About Robert: Robert became fascinated with photography at an early age and started working as a professional photographer in college. He has worked for several newspapers, news agencies and photographed hundreds of freelance assignments, but most of his career was working as the Director of Photography at the University of Mississippi.
He retired from Ole Miss after 33-years and since then he has enjoyed working with a broad spectrum of clients with a wide variety of projects. He has photographed 1,400-year-old Greek artifacts, new products for sale on Amazon, buildings, people, events, food, artwork, sculpture, jewelry, cars, dogs, cats and birds.
He loves to share what he has learned about photography with other photography enthusiast thought the Ole Miss Communiversity program.
