Join Tammy Wilson of The Dance Studio in Tupelo for two dance classes in September: Beginner East Coast Swing & Intermediate Salsa! Sign up for one or the other or take both!
Rumba is a captivating and passionate Afro-Cuban dance that embodies the essence of romance. Emerging in the early 20th century, it has become a quintessential Latin dance style. Dancers engage in a mesmerizing interplay of movement and emotion, often performed as a partnership. The dance combines slow hip movements with quick, intricate footwork, creating a beautiful contrast. Rumba is as much about storytelling as it is about technical skill. This is a beginner class open to all levels of dancers.
East Coast Swing is a lively partner dance that developed from swing dancing in the United States. It’s danced to a variety of musical genres, including jazz, blues, rock-and-roll, and big band music using a basic six-count rhythm with spins, turns, and energetic footwork. This is an intermediate class. Students should be familiar with the basic steps.
No partner is necessary for either class!
Registration for one class is $60, and if you register for both Rumba and Swing, it’s $100.
