About the Instructor:
Anna Lauren Heavener has proudly called Oxford home since 2013 and currently serves as a Success Coach and EDHE Instructor at The University of Mississippi. Her love for creativity has always been part of her story—a lifelong appreciation for art, imagination, and making things by hand that only deepened when she discovered amateur calligraphy in the 7th grade. Since then, she has joyfully explored hand-lettering, watercolor and acrylic painting, inks, and textured mixed-media work, building a creative style that is playful, expressive, and ever-evolving.
She believes handmade art carries something truly special—pieces created with time, care, and intention can be deeply meaningful, often becoming sentimental keepsakes for both the maker and the receiver. Known for her upbeat, energetic, and encouraging teaching style, Anna Lauren is passionate about helping people of all ages unlock their creativity, embrace imperfection, and experience the simple joy of making something beautiful by hand.
