Mississippi State Science and Engineering Fair

The Sandy and John Black Pavilion at Ole Miss

March 30-31, 2023

For 2023, the Mississippi State Science and Engineering Fair will be hosted by the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi, on March 30-31, 2023, and coordinated by the university’s Office of Pre-College Programs and the UM Division of Outreach and Continuing Education, who host the MSEF Region VII Fairs. The MSEF State Fair is for students in grades 7-12 that placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd at their respective regional fair.

The Mississippi Science and Engineering Fairs (MSEF), started in 1964, is the state-level competition for the state of Mississippi science fairs and is hosted and coordinated by one of seven regional fair directors and their respective colleges, universities, and school districts. The regional directors make up the standing Board of Directors, who determine the state’s fair guidelines. MSEF and its regional fairs are affiliated with the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) competition.

It is the mission of the Mississippi Science and Engineering Fairs to provide a safe and open atmosphere that encourages scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and academic forum for students in the state of Mississippi.
