Lower Fair (1st – 6th Grade)

2024 Region VII Lower Fair Date: March 21, 2024
Cost per student: $25 (late registration fee +$10)

Once a school has completed their local school fair, teachers will need to send an email to all of those students eligible to attend the fair. This email should include the student registration link, and the step-by-step guide for families and students. Each school has the option to bring 1st - 6th place in each grade (1st – 6th) in each of the 13 science categories. That means that there is the potential to register 78 students per grade for your school, if approval is granted by your administration. The Lower Fair is divided into two classes: Class 1 (1st – 3rd grades) and Class 2 (4th – 6th grades). Each participant will be judged against their peers in their class and category. Follow the steps below to register your school and Lower Fair students for the Region VII Science Fair.

STEP 1: Teacher Registration

Deadline: November 9, 2023
Beginning in 2023, schools will no longer register for science fair. Instead, we are asking teachers to register through the zfairs registration system. A new account will need to be created each year to help us keep track of which schools will be returning. A step-by-step guide is available to help you through the registration process.

STEP 2: Student Registration

Deadline: February 22, 2024; late registrations incur additional cost and are due by March 14, 2024

All eligible students will receive an email from their teacher. This email will contain the student registration link as well as a step-by-step guide on how to register.

STEP 3: Prepare for Fair Day and Attend

Fair Day: March 21, 2024

Prepare for fair day by making your project board display and practice explaining and answering questions about your project.
