General Information for Educators

The University of Mississippi offers a variety of programs designed to expand students’ access to high-quality academic experiences while still in high school. Some of programs select participants through a competitive admissions process while others are open to all eligible students.

Competitive Admissions
Programs such as ARISE, Lott Leadership Summer Institutes, MS StarTalk, and Rebel Research Scholars hold competitive admissions. For details and deadlines, please visit their individual program pages.

As an educator, please assist your students as you are able by reminding them of deadlines, writing strong recommendation letters referencing specific student attributes and strengths, and submitting transcripts as soon as possible to the Office of Pre-College Programs, not the University of Mississippi Admissions Office. You may use our address or fax, listed at the bottom of this page.

Financial Aid
All of our programs offer scholarships based upon merit and/or financial need. Students should submit their materials as soon as they are able, as aid will be awarded on a rolling basis. For more information or an application, please visit the Financial Aid and Scholarships page.
