Instructor name: She received her PhD in Art History from Indiana University in 2013, with a specialization in the history of collections in America, as well as Renaissance and Baroque European Art. She also holds an MA in art history from Indiana University and an MA from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, with a focus on museum studies. Prior to joining the University of Mississippi in the Spring of 2013, she was Acting Curator for Western Art before 1800 at the Indiana University Art Museum. |

Course Description |

This 16-lesson independent study course is a chronological and thematic survey of the art, architecture, and artifacts of world civilizations of the medieval through the modern eras. A variety of cultural issues, aesthetic styles, contextual perspectives, artists, and exemplary works of art will be examined and considered. |
