Individual & International Internships

In today's global marketplace, employers can choose the most gifted candidates from anywhere on earth, and even graduate degrees no longer guarantee prime positions. One old adage still seems to hold true: "You can't get a job without experience, but you won't gain experience until you have a job."

Individual Internship participants have the flexibility to intern anywhere in the world — from the comfort of home, in your hometown, an international location, or where ever there is an internship opportunity. The Internship Experience prepares students to thrive in a variety of locations.

Individual Internship Housing

The UM Internship Experience supports students interning at any location. Students seeking internships outside of Atlanta, New York, and Washington, DC secure their own housing arrangements with the support of UM Internship Experience staff.

Internship Experience staff can help students identify housing opportunities at their internship location; however, this support will vary depending on a variety of factors. UM Internship Experience staff will assist students in making connections with appropriate housing providers, if available.

Individual Internship Transportation

Transportation to individual internship locations will vary depending upon the internship location and any arrangements specified by the internship employer. UM Internship Experience staff will assist students in planning logistics arrangements.  Internship Experience participants can book air travel through Travel Leaders, a UM approved travel agency, and have their airfare billed to their bursar account.

International Internship Housing

Students seeking international internships will coordinate with Ole Miss Study Abroad to secure housing and travel arrangements for summer internships. The UM Internship Experience assists students in making connections with Study Abroad staff.

International Internship Transportation

Transportation to international internship locations will vary depending upon the internship location and any arrangements specified with Ole Miss Study Abroad.
