Sponsored by the Office of High School Academic Competitions and Special Events, the University of Mississippi Department of History, the Department of Classics, and the Center for the Study of Southern Culture
There is no entry fee and all high school students are welcome to compete. Besides the history exam, there will be five other competitions this year: the Team Brain Bowl, Video Presentation, Research Paper, Display/Poster, and Computer Project. Students are encouraged to enter more than one competition but all students will compete in the exam competition. All competing students must be in the ninth, tenth, eleventh, or twelfth grade.Click here for a printable PDF.
The deadline for registration is January 31, 2008. Please note that certain competitions require submission of materials prior to the date of the competition in order to be judged.
Each student participating in History Day must fill out a registration form. For those entering the Team Brain Bowl, a seperate and additional registration form must be completed.
School officials and non-competing students are also invited to attend as spectators, regardless of whether an entry has been made on behalf of the school. Additionally, students do not necessarily need to be accompanied by a school official in order to compete, but all students must be accompanied by an adult.
