According to the latest NAEP scores, students living in poverty account for the more than 40% of the variation in average reading scores. When talking with teachers across our state, student motivation seems to be a recurring obstacle, and poverty may be a factor. The question becomes—What can we do to combat apathy among our struggling students? Join us for a day of discussion and strategies to increase student motivation across all grade levels. We will be joined by guest speakers discussing the impact of poverty on students in our classrooms.
