I have been a University of Mississippi HS mathematics instructor since 2011. I teach Algebra II, Trigonometry and Pre-Calculus. In addition to teaching online, I am a full time math teacher at Pontotoc High School where I teach Statistics, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and ACT Prep.

Course Description:

Students who successfully complete Trigonometry should be able to work with angles in degree or radian measure, write the ratio definitions of the six trigonometric functions, evaluate trigonometric functions of special angles, sketch graphs of trigonometric functions, solve trigonometric equations, and use the Laws of Sines and Cosines to solve triangles.

  • Scientific or Graphing Calculator Required (TI-83 is recommended)
  • Computer with Internet connection to access Blackboard
  • Microsoft Office 2003 or later
  • Adobe Reader 7.0 or later

Course Objectives include (but are not limited to):

  • Define trigonometric functions.
  • Convert between degrees and radians.
  • Solve triangles and problems involving triangles.
  • Graph and analyze trigonometric functions.
  • Verify trigonometric identities.
  • Connect trigonometric functions to circular functions.
  • Solve trigonometric equations.
  • Solve triangles using the Law of Sines and Law of Cosines.
