Course Description:

HS Chemistry is designed to allow any student to take a high school level chemistry course in an online format.

Due to the fact that the student does not report to an actual classroom, and due to the liabilities involved in having that student try to do a chemistry lab procedure in his or her home (kitchen), this course does not involve a laboratory component. It is not intended to serve as an AP Chemistry course; although it is designed to ensure that the student will have the chemistry content background necessary for successful completion of a college-level first year chemistry course.

Required Textbook:

Chemistry; Wilbraham, Staley, Matta, and Waterman; Prentice Hall Publishing, 2005

ISBN: 0-13-115262-9

It is the student's responsibility to order his or her textbook. Online textbook retailers such as Amazon.com, ABEbooks.com, or Half.com usually provide used textbooks at economical prices.

You must make sure you are ordering the exact book required in this syllabus.
