Instructor Information:

I am a high school Business and Technology teacher at Oxford High School located in Oxford, Mississippi. I have a AAA teaching license issued by the Mississippi Department of Education.

I have been teaching for approximately 9 years and love every moment. I am currently a doctoral student pursing a PhD in Educational Technology.

I believe there are important learning moments for every student; every student is successful in their own unique way. Therefore, strive and be persistent and success is awaiting you.

Course Description:

Business Law is a semester class in which the student will earn 1/2 credit if he/she successfully completes the course. Business Law provides the basic foundations of law as it relates to business and consumer applications within the frameworks of federal, state, and local laws.

Students will examine the relationship of law and ethics, due process, contract law, court systems, and methods of dispute resolution. This course will identify the distinction between civil and criminal law, and the emerging influence of technology and the Internet. We will examine the origin of procedural and employment law and legislation that applies real and personal property. When you successfully complete the course, you will be equipped with a working knowledge of the law as it is applied to various legal situations that are encountered in personal and business situations.

Remember, this course covers an entire semester of work. That means that each module in this course equals approximately a week of course work and will require the same time and effort on your part. Do not expect to complete each module in a single study session.

The analysis of grades will consist of an accumulation of student activities to include but not limited to the following items:

A = 93 - 100
B = 85 - 92
C = 75 - 84
D = 70 - 74

The grading format is as follows:
