
University of Mississippi–Tupelo business and accountancy students recently placed among the winners at the Mississippi Phi Beta Lambda Leadership (PBL) Conference in Tupelo. PBL is an educational association of college students who are preparing for careers in business. As a result of their first or second place finishes, six of the students will have the opportunity to compete at the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California, in June.
Competitors included: Troy Bailey of Fulton–first place Network Design; Anthony Dean of Smithville–first place Sales Presentation; Joseph Fava of Pontotoc–first place Network Design; Casey Finn–second place Marketing Concepts; Stephanie Hicks of Randolph–fourth place Marketing Concepts; Michelle Payne of Blue Springs–first place in Statistical Analysis and second place in Accounting Principles; and Kimberly Smith of New Albany–first place in Financial Analysis and Decision Making.
