The competition deadline is February 15, 2006.
Completed entries must be postmarked by February 15, 2006; all entries after the deadline will not be considered. If your newspaper is online, you may submit entries from it via hard copy format in any of the newspaper categories. For example, a news article that only appeared online may be submitted in the "news writing" category by submitting a printout of that story. Again this year, we will a have a broadcast category.
The conference will begin with an 8:00AM registration and will end after the 2:00PM closing ceremonies. We will offer multiple workshops on various topics in all areas of journalism. Special hands-on workshops will be offered in broadcast and in computer design. Those workshops will be limited to two students from each school. Also, publication critique sessions will be offered; please sign up at registration.
The registration deadline is March 9, 2006.
At the 9:00AM opening session, each candidate running for a MSPA office will be allowed to speak; and voting will begin after the opening session. Only a student who attends a school that is currently a MSPA member may run for an office. At the closing ceremony, the new officers and the winners of the competitions will be announced.
The conference schedule will be available by February 15, 2006.
