Students will spend four weeks in the Mississippi Delta. Lodging is TBD. Carson Mounds is near Clarksdale, Mississippi, the “birthplace of the Blues” and childhood home of writer Tennessee Williams.


Undergraduate or graduate students from The University of Mississippi or other institutions who are interested in learning about bioarchaeology.  No prior archaeological experience is necessary.


The program dates are June 30-July 29, 2011. 


Students are responsible for their transportation to Clarksdale, Mississippi. 

How much?

Program cost for undergraduates is $1795 for resident and $1995 for non-resident students.  For graduate students the cost is $2495 for resident and $2695 for non-resident students.  Included in the cost are tuition, housing and supplies for the field school.  Excluded from the cost are the Study USA application fee, meals, transportation to Clarksdale, Mississippi and personal spending money.
