Application Information for Non-UM Students
The University of Mississippi welcomes applications from non-UM students for every program except for its Exchanges. For more information, call the Study Abroad Office at 662-915-1508 or send an e-mail to abroad@olemiss.edu. If you're interested in studying abroad through a UM program, please complete the following steps and send all materials to:

Be aware that all applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be in academic and disciplinary good standing at their home university
- Have at least a cumulative 2.5 GPA at their home university
Some programs have additional requirements. See the program's web page or contact a Study Abroad Advisor for more information.
Applying to a UM program
- Download an Application for Undergraduate Admission to The University of Mississippi. DO NOT COMPLETE THE APPLICATION ONLINE. Complete the application, noting that you are applying as a visiting student for a Study Abroad program.
- Note: You will need to submit an OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT in a sealed envelope from your university as part of the Application for Undergraduate Admission.
- Download a UM Study Abroad Application. Non-UM students do not have to complete the Scholarship Application or Course Approval Form. They should instead contact their campus Study Abroad Office to complete any requirements the home university has for off-campus study.
- Collect the following paperwork:
- Official transcript from all universities attended
- Copy of passport (once available)
- Check for $100 made payable to The University of Mississippi to cover the cost of the UM application fee and Study Abroad application fee, both non-refundable.
Additional materials may be required for your program. Check the program's web page or contact a Study Abroad Advisor for more information.
- Submit all of the above materials to the Study Abroad Office by mail.
- When materials have been reviewed, you will be contacted by the Study Abroad Office. Be aware that there are required orientations prior to your departure. Your Study Abroad Advisor will contact you to coordinate your completion of these activities.

Winter and Spring 2008 Application Deadlines
Oct. 24 - Spring 2008 semester application deadline
Nov. 7 - Winter 2008 faculty-led program application deadline
Summer and Fall 2008 Application Deadlines
March 19 - Fall semester application deadline
April 3 - Summer application deadline
