Billing and registration (you know, the fun ones)

I am married and like to write. I need to be creative every now and again or my brain turns to sludge.

My favorite place in the world is …
a rocking chair on the porch of the great American eating establishment Cracker Barrell (as long as there is a set of giant Checkers nearby).
Aisle, window, or middle seat?
I have to go with Blair on this one and say exit row, as well. Of course, right behind a middle-aged woman who is certain that her seatback can recline despite my knees being in the way is always a good spot.

Best travel tip:
If you are lucky enough to fly U.S. Airways, watching 2 episodes of "Blossom" is a welcome alternative to sleep on a transatlantic flight.
What I consider a travel emergency:
Being stuck on the tarmac for hours while men wielding humongous wrenches run to work on the engine of the plane. It really instills you with a sense of confidence.
Biggest cultural hurdle:
Trying to make the restaurant workers in Britain understand that ice with my drink refers to more than one cube.
I think you should go abroad because …
It is a more complete educational experience. If you want to learn about Charles Dickens why not go peruse the streets he walked and see his points of inspiration? Not in a textbook but with your own two eyes. No classroom can compare.
