Spanish in Madrid

Be immersed in the rich heritage of Spain while learning Spanish language in the dynamic city of Madrid. Build your fluency alongside UM students and visit historic sites in Madrid — like the Prado and Reina Sofia — as well as the beautiful city of Toledo.

The course focuses on Spanish cinema and culture studies.  However, there are two main academic differences from an on-campus course: in the shortened time period classes are intensive and are a main part of your daily activities; and, the cultural aspect of the language will be learned first-hand in addition to classroom activities.

Dr. Klodt says: "Madrid is the cultural center of Spain: El Prado museum, vibrant cultural activities (music and drama), and a legendary nightlife. I hope through all of these experiences students will boost their language skills and gain a deeper appreciation of Spanish culture."
