This hybrid course will involve preparation and wrap-up work on the UM campus so that you can apply knowledge learned in the classroom during an observation and teaching experience at Anatolia College (elementary school) in Greece. While in Greece there will also be a focus on cultural learning in the city and a short stay in a beach area near the Greek Isles. Students will gain a global perspective on the cultural context of education with a focus on comparing American with Greek education. Through research, interviews, and development of a case study, we will reflect on knowledge gained through direct contact with Greek educators and young students in discussion groups. |
