Explore the role food plays in French culture and the history of French cooking and agriculture. Situated in the heart of sunny Provence, Arles is home to a culinary school/bed and breakfast, “Cuisine et Tradition School of Provencale Cuisine,” where students will study for two weeks the art of provencale cooking while reading selections from French texts inspired by food and its consumption. The course, taught by UM faculty member Anne Quinney, is intended for students who have completed the 200-level of French language. Students will earn 3 hours of credit for FR398. |
