Writer’s Workshop

Stop reading British literature as foreign material and use London as a backdrop for your own creative fiction. Nothing so stimulates a creative writer as a fresh point of view from a new locale. Travel to London and find out why Samuel Johnson once claimed: “when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.” The course, taught by UM faculty member Dr. David Galef, combines site-specific assignments with readings from writers who have made London their subject. Students will earn 3 hours of credit for ENGL 311.
