Explore the capital city of the United Kingdom this summer through the literature of its diverse cultures. This course will examine materials in the contexts of cultural, political, social, and aesthetic concerns of writers and their communities. Taught by UM faculty member Adetayo Alabi, students will also consider the qualities of texts produced by different international communities, strategies for studying world cultures through literature, and how texts and authors write and re-write themselves and other cultures. Students will earn 3 hours of credit for ENGL 222. |
