Discover the Galapagos Islands, an incredible oasis for biodiversity. One of the most renowned oceanic archipelagos in the eastern Pacific, the islands remain one of the most pristine places on Earth. Based in San Cristobal at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito’s GAIAS facility, students will live in the GAIAS hotel and explore the plants, animals and other lifeforms slightly below the water’s surface. The course, taught by UM faculty member Gary Gaston, is for biology majors having completed at least 8 hours of major coursework and with strong swimming skills. Students will earn 4 hours of credit for BISC 380. |
