Spanish Language in Chile

The best way to learn a language is to experience the culture where it is spoken.  Students on our Spanish language programs are encouraged to see the city and experience life in Valparaiso with their host families and classmates.  Improve and challenge your speaking skills by living with a host family and trying new foods, festivals, and meeting new Chilean friends.

Tucked between the Pacific Ocean and the towering Andes Mountains, Chile is an amazing country of extreme contrasts. Home to literary greats such as Pablo Neruda and Gabriela Mistral, Chile is an ideal location to develop proficiency in Spanish and an understanding of diverse Latin American cultures. Students will earn 3 hours of credit for SPAN 198a, SPAN 298, SPAN 398, or SPAN 598.
