Spring 2009

There are three main types of semester Study Abroad Program: Exchange, Affiliates, and Partners. Students choosing any of these option will receive ABCDF grades and University of Mississippi credit for their semester or year of study abroad.

Read below to see how you can spend a semester abroad and where that opportunity can take you.

Exchanges

Our most popular semester option, exchanges are great for University of Mississippi students because the cost of the semester abroad is based on UM tuition. Besides cost of living differences, students don’t have to budget for the cost of attending a more expensive university and most UM scholarships will still apply to the cost of a semester abroad. Exchanges are a perfect fit for an independent student looking to be immersed in a new culture and, sometimes, language. If this sounds interesting to you, check out our Exchange Programs page to see all the places you can go.

Affiliates

There are some areas of the world where we just don’t have an exchange but see a lot of student interest. To help meet this need we have established agreements with a few affiliates to give students opportunities at some interesting sites. Affiliates can be more expensive than Ole Miss tuition but most UM scholarships will apply to the cost and all programs offer ABCDF grades for UM credit. Check out our Affiliates page to learn more about your options.

Partners

When a student comes in with a unique desire that we can’t accommodate through one of our exchanges or preferred partners, we then turn to some of our Other Partners to find a suitable program. Like Preferred Partners, the cost of our Other Partners can be quite a bit higher than UM tuition. Likewise, students will receive ABCDF grades for Ole Miss credit. The difference with our Partners is that they offer a multitude of programs in a myriad of countries. Check out our Partners page to read more.
