» Lott Leadership Exchange
Each year the Trent Lott Leadership Institute, in association with the Study Abroad Office, sponsors the Lott Leadership Exchange Programs for Ole Miss students. These programs provide scholarships for selected students to learn about and in another part of the world. The groups also include students from partner institutions abroad who come to the United States to learn about and in the South and Washington, DC. Learning together at home and abroad provides amazing experiences for students from both partner institutions. These programs are open to all students but would be of particular interest to international studies, public policy, sociology, economics, and anthropology majors. Learn more.
» San Mateo Empowerment Project
More than the fundraising campaign originally created by students and professors in The University of Mississippi’s Department of Social Work , the San Mateo Empowerment Project now supports a community-led effort in San Mateo, Belize, to replace miles of dangerous plank bridges with rock and sand roads. The construction of roads removes a serious safety hazard for children and leads to wider access to water, electricity, and sewage systems for thousands of San Mateo's residents. The effort has expanded to include tutoring children, teaching music, buying eyeglasses, and conducting research that can influence the community’s future. Learn more.
» Student Teaching Abroad

» Global Ambassadors at the University of Mississippi
The purpose of this program is to pair visiting international exchange or intensive English students with American students at the University of Mississippi in order to foster understanding and more open communication between these two groups.
Global Ambassadors are representatives of the University of Mississippi who help international exchange or intensive English students acclimate to life in Oxford by inviting them to social events and campus activities and introducing them to Ole Miss college traditions such as Groving, pep rallies, Greek life, and local arts. Each Global Ambassador will assist a group of two or three exchange students and will be paired with the group based on common interests and majors. International exchange and intensive English students come from universities across the globe: China, France, Ireland, South Korea, Argentina, Germany, and Ecuador… just to name a few.
If you are a current University of Mississippi student who is interested in getting to know people from across the world and would like to learn about other cultures while helping visiting international students integrate into the Oxford and Ole Miss Community throughout the semester, then this program is right for you!
