Mediterranean Center for Arts and Sciences - Syracuse, Sicily

The Mediterranean Center for Arts and Sciences is located in Sicily, on the Mediterranean Sea. Known as the greatest classical Greek city outside of Athens, Siracusa holds a wealth of attractions for students. The MCAS course catalog includes classes ranging from Italian language to anthropology, archaeology, classics, philosophy, geology, environmental studies, history, painting and photography. Although the MCAS curriculum is not limited to Italian language and culture, the Italian language program is of excellent quality.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 18 years old
  • Minimum GPA of 2.75
  • Good academic and disciplinary standing at UM

COURSES

Students will enroll in the equivalent of 12 semester hours. At least one 3-hour course in Italian is required of all students. A listing of additional course offerings are available online and in the Study Abroad Office.

A passport and visa are required for all students traveling to Italy.
