Located in Hirakata City, Osaka, Kansai Gaidai is accessible, within a one-hour train ride, to Kyoto and Nara, the ancient capitals, and Osaka, the second largest business hub in Japan. Kansai Gaidai has two campuses in Hirakata: the Nakamiya campus and the Hotani campus. The Center for International Education, the centerpiece for the Asian Studies Program is located at the Nakamiya campus. Kansai Gadai's location provides students with easy access to the centers of Osaka and Kyoto in little over half an hour by train. Kansai Gaidai University, founded in 1945, is known for its dedication to international academic exchange.
UM students will enroll directly in courses with Kansai Gaidai students, selecting from courses in Japanese, Business, Art, and the Social Sciences. Students should research course information online, and select a minimum of 12 semester hours.
A passport passport is required for U.S. citizens traveling to Japan. A visa is also required for semester and all year study.
