Caribbean Literature

Before its purchase by the United States in 1917, St. Croix was ruled for several years by Denmark, Britain, France, Spain, the Netherlands, and the Knights of Malta. Because of its history, St. Croix is significantly multicultural while retaining practices that are common on several Caribbean islands. In addition to touring historic places across the islands, students will read essays, watch videos on Caribbean culture, and participate in the Carnival processions on St. Croix.
