UM-DeSoto Campus Specific Scholarships

All UM-Desoto Scholarships Application Deadlines:
June 1 for Fall Admission
November 1 for Spring Admission

Transfer Student Academic Excellence Scholarships

The following scholarships are offered to new transfer students who are starting their junior year of coursework at The University of Mississippi-DeSoto campus only.

Community College Transfer Students
Scholarships are available to selected outstanding transfer students in the following majors:

  • Accountancy ($250 per semester)
  • Business ($250 per semester)
  • Criminal Justice (½ tuition)
  • Paralegal Studies (½ tuition)
  • Social Work (½ tuition)

Leadership Scholarships
Leadership Scholarships are available to selected community college and community leaders. This scholarship is awarded in the amount of ½ tuition per semester while enrolled in courses at the UM-DeSoto campus.

Phi Beta Lambda Member Scholarships
Phi Beta Lambda Student Business Organization member scholarships are available to selected students at $250 per semester.

Scholarships for Graduate- Level Courses

Education fields
Scholarships are available to selected area teachers and community residents who are beginning their master's level coursework at The University of Mississippi- DeSoto campus.

Recipients will receive a half-tuition scholarship for each graduate level class in the following degree programs:
  • Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction
  • Specialist of Education in Curriculum and Instruction
  • Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL)
  • Master of Education in Professional Counseling
Criteria:
  • Must be awarded to a student entering a graduate-level program at UM-DeSoto
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on undergraduate coursework.
  • Must submit a one page essay that demonstrates financial need and interest in your chosen field.
  • Must submit an application for admission to The University of Mississippi- DeSoto.
  • Must submit a letter of recommendation from a fellow educator, former instructor, or anyone who can vouch for superior performance in your chosen area of study

Master’s of Accountancy Scholarships and Graduate Assistantships
Scholarships are available to students who are beginning their master’s level coursework in accountancy at The University of Mississippi–DeSoto campus. Scholarship award recipients may be awarded ½ tuition scholarships for each graduate level class taken at UM–DeSoto.

Two graduate assistantship opportunities are available to students who are beginning their master’s level coursework in accountancy at The University of Mississippi–DeSoto campus. Students are required to work 20 hours per week with UM–DeSoto faculty and staff. The assistantship will pay all tuition costs as well as supply an $800 per month stipend.
