Deadlines to Apply for UM-DeSoto Ambassador Positions
     For Fall Semester: August 1
     For Spring Semester: December 1

Thank you for your interest in the The University of Mississippi-DeSoto Student Ambassador program. We are currently looking for outgoing students who would like to help us promote our outstanding university and provide assistance to prospective students. Students from all walks of life are encouraged to apply, whether you are a transfer student from an area community college or a working student who is trying to complete a graduate degree.

If chosen to work as an ambassador, you will receive a $250 scholarship toward your tuition per semester. If you successfully complete the required number of work hours per semester, you will be eligible to receive the scholarship the following semester. The UM-DeSoto staff will decide this on a semester-by-semester basis.

Listed below is an overview of the duties that you will be responsible for as a UM-DeSoto Ambassador:
  1. Ambassadors will meet with prospective students to give campus tours and provide information on UM-DeSoto programs and activities.
  2. Ambassadors will contact prospective students through postcards, emails, letters and phone calls, as well as keep track of students within our prospective student database.
  3. Ambassadors will be required to work a specified number of hours per month throughout the semester.
  4. Ambassadors will positively promote The University of Mississippi-DeSoto and its programs during campus and community events. (Registration, New Student Orientation, UM Career Fair, etc.)
  5. Ambassadors must be involved in a student organiation on campus.
