Career Center
The UM-DeSoto campus hosts an annual Career Fair in March of each year. Numerous employers from the area attend to meet with graduating students.
Information concerning resumes and interviewing skills as well as internship and job opportunities are located in the UM-DeSoto Student Services Center on Church Road.
Counseling Center
The UM Counseling Center offers services designed to complement the University’s academic mission by assisting students with their personal and educational
development through a variety of psychological services.
Corinn Johnson is serving as the counselor for the UM-DeSoto campus during the 2009-2010 academic year. She is available to meet with students, faculty, and staff free-of-charge on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. You can email her directly for an appointment at cjohnso3@olemiss.edu.
Disability Services
The University of Mississippi is committed to ensuring equal access to an education for enrolled or admitted students who have verified disabilities under
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA). The Office of Student Disability Services (SDS) provides
reasonable classroom accommodations to verified students with physical and nonphysical disorders.
University policy calls for accommodations to be provided on an individual and flexible basis. It is the responsibility of students with disabilities to seek available assistance from the University by contacting SDS in a timely manner.
Library Services
University of Mississippi students currently enrolled at the UM-DeSoto campus enjoy identical borrowing privileges and access to electronic resources as
students currently enrolled on the main UM campus at Oxford. Included are books, music scores, DVD's, government documents, CDs, films, maps, etc. and online
access to over 170 electronic databases, e-books, thousands of full text articles, online subject guides and research help.
Books needed from the UM-Oxford library are delivered by shuttle to the DeSoto campus each week (Monday- Thursday). Articles not available online but held in print or microform, can be scanned and emailed to UM-DeSoto students. Please visit the Interlibrary Loan program’s "Information for Distance Learners," web site and register for these services. An Ole Miss Photo ID with valid barcode is required.
Writing Center
The UM-DeSoto Writing Center is open to all UM students who need help with general writing skills as well as specific writing assignments. The Center
is staffed by experienced consultants who have been trained to help others with their writing. Please visit the UM-DeSoto Writing Center Web site

Mondays from 9:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.
Wednesdays from 12 noon - 4:00 p.m.
Thursdays from 4:00- 6:00 p.m.
Math Tutoring
Math tutoring for finance, statistics, and other courses that require a strong knowledge of mathematics is available at the UM-DeSoto campus on Thursdays
in the UM-DeSoto front office from 6:30-8:30 p.m. during the 2009-2010 academic year. Please contact tutor Harlan Holt at
