GENERAL INFORMATION

About Registration

Through joint efforts, Northwest Mississippi Community College and The University of Mississippi offer a wide assortment of continuing education courses at the DeSoto Center.

Located in the DeSoto Center at 5197 W.E. Ross Parkway, DeSoto Center Continuing Education is open year-round (excluding University-observed holidays).  Several options for registration are available: online, fax, phone, mail-in and walk-in.  Our regular hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Registration begins now and continues until the deadline listed with each specific class. Some programs have limited enrollment and are filled on a first-come basis.  You must register by the deadline.  By enrolling early, you ensure your place in the class of your choice, and that the class meets minimum enrollment requirements.

Internet
Register online securely at www.olemiss.edu/southaven using your Visa or MasterCard.

Fax
Fax your registration form, including your Visa or MasterCard information, to 662-342-5208.

Mail
Mail registration form with fee to The University of Mississippi-Desoto Center, 5197 W.E. Ross Parkway, Southaven, MS  38671.

In Person
Register in person at the DeSoto Center located at5197 W.E. Ross Parkway in Southaven.  We are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

By Phone
Register by phone at 662-393-6601 using your Visa or MasterCard.

Fees

Fees are due at the time of registration, whether by mail, fax, phone, online or in person. Payment may be made in cash or by check (payable to The University of Mississippi), money order, or credit card (Visa or MasterCard ONLY). If registering by fax, phone or online, payment must be made using Visa or MasterCard.  When paying by credit card, be sure to fill out all appropriate information on the registration form.  Please do not send cash through the mail.

Who May Enroll

DeSoto Center Continuing Education classes are designed for adults, and do not require admission to the University.

Class Cancellations

Classes with insufficient enrollment or other just causes, such as illness of instructor, may be canceled. Students will be notified at least 24 hours before the first class meeting. Because contacts will be made during the day, please supply your daytime phone number or one where a message may be left for you and/or an email address that you check daily.

The University of Mississippi-DeSoto reserves the right to cancel, postpone, limit enrollment, split or combine classes, and change instructors and class locations when necessary.

Class Refunds

Registration fees are refunded for DeSoto Center Continuing Education courses in full when: 1) the class for which an enrollment was submitted is full, 2) the class is canceled by the University, or 3) the University rejects the enrollment application.  A student who withdraws within 48 hours of the first class meeting will receive a refund of registration fees, less $10. 

For information on refunds from other courses or programs, please contact the appropriate office directly.

University Holidays

University offices will be closed on the following holidays: January 15, April 6, and May 28.
