University of Mississippi Employees (full-time) may choose ONE of the following employee benefit options: Save $25 per week now by paying the full cost upfront with a card. –OR– Choose Payroll Deduction – Full price of day camp ($400) taken out over six (6) pay periods starting with the first payroll of July. Available until June 15th.

The Ole Miss Spanish Camp is a day camp held on the University of Mississippi’s Oxford campus and led by highly qualified university instructors. Students will experience hands-on language learning that will explore different cultural topics and be provided explicit and implicit instruction on the Spanish language. The Ole Miss Spanish Camp is designed for language learners with beginner to novice levels of Spanish proficiency. This camp may not be suitable for learners of more advanced proficiencies.

Following the completion of this camp, students should be able to:

  • Recognize and understand familiar words and phrases related to the areas covered during the camp,
  • Understand and read very short simple texts,
  • Interact and communicate in simple, routine tasks,
  • Use simple phrases and sentences to describe their surroundings, family, and themed topics, and
  • Write short simple messages relating to the camp’s themes.

Make it a full-day camp

Families seeking a full-day camp experience during these two weeks may now add a special afternoon-only Rebel Quest registration to their student’s half-day schedule.

Reserved only for Spanish Day Camp participants, your student can transition directly from Spanish Camp in the mornings to Summer Olympics-themed Rebel Quest programs in the afternoon.

Residential students will live in a residence hall on campus, supervised by live-in counselors. All counselors are undergraduate students trained in the supervision of minors and background-checked. Evening recreational activities may include use of the campus recreational center, board games, and trips to locations on campus or in town.

Dru Jones

Dru Jones, a chef by trade, is the Food Specialist in the Department of Nutrition and Hospitality Management. Chef Jones completed his studies at Johnson and Wales University, earning an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Culinary Arts and a BS in Food Service Management. Building upon a restaurant management and food service background that has spanned across the United States, his interests focus on sharing the science behind food preparation and cooking, streamlining processes, business operations, and hospitality financial systems while instilling great interest and drive in those learning nutrition and hospitality management

Registration Instructions

Program registration is a 3-step process that should be completed in order:

  • Step 1: Pay and secure your spot.
  • Step 2: Create an account. 
  • Step 3: Complete registration and checklist items.

Please only complete one (1) student registration per transaction. If registering multiple students, complete one student's registration, then start the process over for the next student. This system does not allow entry of multiple students' information within the same registration.

Step 2: Create an account

Please use a personal email account, not a school affiliated email address, as most servers block external emails.

Within 3 business days, you will receive an email from umprecollege@myschoolapp.com with steps to create your Admissions Portal through our Blackbaud MySchoolApp system.

Step 3. Complete your registration and checklist items before the deadline.

Once in the Admissions Portal, you will instantly see your program’s registration checklist that our admissions team has assigned you. Please complete the registration checklist before the program deadline and within 14 days of creating an account.

Registration includes standard questions (e.g., contact information, academic history, etc.) as well as instructions for submitting rules and guidelines agreements and medical information and forms.

Before the program begins:

Prior to the start of summer, you will receive a detailed pre-summer logistics email along with a pre-arrival checklist shown on your MySchoolApp account.

Incomplete or Late Registrations

After you have paid and secured a seat in the program, make sure to finish the remaining steps within two (2) weeks. If your registration is incomplete or an application is inactive for three (3) weeks, a $20 late fee will incur, unless an extension is requested.

Refund Policy

You must cancel your registration at least two weeks before the chosen session to receive an 80% refund. Refunds are not available to cancellations made less than two weeks prior to the chosen session. Full refunds will be issued if the camp is cancelled due to low enrollment.

Commuter Student Information

  • Orientation
    • Students, including commuters, and their parents will attend a program orientation. The program director and summer staff will go over the details of the week, important guidelines and rules of the program, and additional information related to the program.
  • Daily Check-In/Out
    • Each day, Monday-Friday, commuting students will be dropped off at a designated location on campus. The parent will check-in the student with a summer counselor and provide a contact number for the day.

Residential Student Information

  • Move-In
    • Residential students will move into the residence hall on a Sunday afternoon. Students will receive a room card, a meal card, and Welcome Home pack at the check-in table.
  • Orientation
    • Students, including commuters, and their parents will attend a program orientation. The program director and summer staff will go over the details of the next two weeks, important guidelines and rules of the program, and additional information related to the program.
  • Move-Out
    • Residential students will move out of the residence hall after class and the final exam or parent presentation are over on the last Friday at 12:00 noon.
    • Students will be required to complete a Check-Out Form and Room Inspection before departing the program.
  • Medical Care and Safety
    • All students participating in a camp or program offered by the Office of Pre-College Programs must complete and return a Summer Medical Form with required documentation (e.g. shot records, insurance card, parent’s driver’s license). This form grants our office the ability to seek medical treatment for a student that is sick or injured. Students lacking this form by the first day of a program will not be able to participate until full documentation is submitted – no exceptions will be made to this policy.

Due to their age, students are not allowed access to the V.B. Harrison Student Health Center on campus. Students requiring non-emergency medical care between the hours of 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. will be transported to an urgent care facility with parent’s approval. There is not an after hours medical clinic in Oxford, so students requiring medical care after 7 p.m. and before 9 a.m. are transported to the emergency room at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi with parent’s approval.

Supervision of Minors. The University of Mississippi and the Office of Pre-College Programs values the safety of all of our students. Our staff and counselors undergo extensive training and complete background checks before our summer camps and programs begin.
