UM-Desoto Holds First Community Service Day

November 3, 2009 The University of Mississippi-DeSoto held its first, "Community Service Day" on Friday, October 30. UM-DeSoto students, faculty, staff and families spent the day painting a home in Horn Lake as part of the Habitat for Humanity project. The home is being prepared for a qualifying family. The Habitat for Humanity organization is working to have the home ready before the Thanksgiving holiday.

UM-DeSoto students will also hold a canned food drive during November to help stock the pantry for the family who will be the recipients of this new home.
