Financial Aid

iStudy is not authorized to award any forms of student aid or scholarships. University of Mississippi students must check with the Office of Financial Aid to determine their eligibility.

Some types of federal financial aid, such as Pell Grant and federal student loans, and State of Mississippi financial aid, such as MESG or MTAG, allow iStudy semester-based courses to count towards fulfilling full-time status requirements. iStudy semester-based courses are different from iStudy full-year courses in that they must be completed within the semester and are only available when the semester registration window is open.

They are also different from traditional semester courses because of their flexibility. Although there are lesson submission rules and requirements to sit for exams, there are no due dates other than the course expiration date. The subject content is the same as its traditional version but, depending on the individual, procrastination can make the courses more difficult.

Please read this page carefully. Your current and future financial aid is dependent on understanding the rules so that you may successfully follow them.

Cost

All UM students may enroll in iStudy courses and have the cost included in their full-time tuition for 15 credit hours or below. Only students who expect to qualify for state financial aid are required to take 15 hours. Students not expecting to receive any type of financial aid may take 15 hours or less, and still have their semester-based iStudy course(s) included in their standard fixed full-time tuition charge. Non-resident students pay the in-state rate for iStudy courses if they are 16 credits or above. This is currently $955.50 per 3 credit course.
