Just for Teachers

Teachers may take independent study courses to fulfill the requirements for Mississippi Teacher Certification or Certification renewal. These courses also fulfill Teacher Certification and Certification renewal requirements in many other states. Information about Mississippi requirements should be obtained from:

The University of Mississippi School of Education has some information about certification requirements in the state of Mississippi available on their Teacher licensure web page.

Independent Study courses may also be used to obtain Add-on Areas of Endorsements. The web page includes Independent Study courses that may be applied toward Add-on Areas of Endorsement.

Teachers residing outside of Mississippi should obtain course approval from their State Department of Education before enrolling. In addition to Independent Study courses we offer several Ole Miss Online courses that are geared for educators.
