Fees
The tuition fee for a course is $212.75 per semester hour or $638.25
for a three-semester hour course1.
The tuition for a correspondence course(s) is separate from the tuition
charges for non-correspondence study courses and is not included in the
standard full-time student (12-19 hours) tuition that is charged for non-correspondence
study courses as assessed by the Bursar’s Office, regardless of
the number of hours for non-correspondence courses work which the student
has been charged.
Tuition Fees may be paid by cash, checks or money orders
drawn by United States banks or foreign banks with affiliate
branches in the United States, international money orders,
or by credit cards. Credit cards accepted are MasterCard
and Visa. Cash should not be mailed. Tuition fees must be paid
in full at the time of registration. An authorization
to bill may be presented in lieu of payment if the student
is registering through business or military agreements
or certain scholarship programs. The official date of
registration is the date the Office of Independent Study
issues receipt of full-fee payment or receives authorization
to bill for full payment. Payment must be in full at
time of enrollment. University of Mississippi students
will pay course fees to the Department of Independent
Study. Please make your remittance payable in the exact
amount to The University of Mississippi, or authorize
a charge to Visa or MasterCard. If an application is
rejected, the fee will be returned to the applicant.
If a check is returned by the applicant's bank, an additional
charge of $25 will be made. A financial flag will be
placed on a student's record at The University of Mississippi
if a check written for tuition or payment of other fees
is returned for any reason. A student should not stop
payment on a check. Stopping payment on a check does
not cancel a course registration nor the student's obligation
to pay fees.
