Independent Study & Online Learning Examination Centers in Mississippi

Students who are enrolled in independent study and online courses offered by The University of Mississippi can take their tests and examinations at one of the Examination Centers listed below.

TESTS AND EXAMINATIONS ARE GIVEN ONLY AT THE CENTERS LISTED AND EITHER BY APPOINTMENT OR ON THE DATES AND THE HOURS INDICATED. It is important that the student report promptly at the appointed hour. If the student is unable to take the test or examination at the appointed day and time, one should notify the Examination Center and set another date and time. Tests and examinations will be available at the designated center for a maximum of three weeks; thereafter, the test or examination will be returned to The University of Mississippi Department of Independent Study.

The maximum time allowed for writing tests and examinations in college-level courses may be as much as three hours. Unless the student begins the test or examination at the hour scheduled, one may not have enough time to answer all questions to the best of one's ability.

TESTS AND EXAMINATIONS ARE NOT GIVEN ON LEGAL HOLIDAYS AND MAY NOT BE GIVEN ON CERTAIN SCHOOL HOLIDAYS. PLEASE CHECK WITH THE PERSON IN CHARGE OF THE CENTER BEFORE SELECTING A DATE AND HOUR FOR YOUR TEST AND EXAMINATION.

NOTE:

It is the student’s responsibility to contact a proctor and schedule a testing appointment for each and every test he/she is required to take.

It is the student’s responsibility to provide Ole Miss Online with their proctor information at least seven (7) days before the examination window opens.

It is the student’s responsibility to cover any testing fees if applicable.

Testing fees are subject to change without notice.

If you are unable to use one of the proctors on this list, you are still responsible for locating a proctor for each and every test.

What is a suitable proctor?

A suitable proctor is an academic dean, registrar, director of admissions, director of testing or counseling, director of independent study, or professor at a college or university. If the student is located in a town that does not have a 2 or 4 year educational institution, the student may use the head librarian at a local public library.
