PORT 101
ELEMENTARY PORTUGUESE
INTRODUCTION
Portuguese 101 is an introductory course in Brazilian Portuguese. Intended for those who have
not previously studied the language, it fulfills the same objective as the course presented in the classroom; that it, the development of skills in understanding, speaking, reading and writing
Portuguese. An additional aim is to help students acquire an appreciation for the history and culture of Brazil. This course is followed by Portuguese 102, in which these goals are furthered through continued study of the language. Intended for students with fewer than 2 years of high school Portugese.
This course offers three (3) hours of academic credit.
MID-COURSE TEST AND FINAL EXAMINATION
The student will take a Mid-Course Test and Final Examination at a physical
location in a college or university setting. Detailed instructions and
Mid-Course Test and Final Examination applications are included in the
online syllabus. Information regarding tests and procedures can be found in General Information.
