RECREATION FOR PERSON WITH DISABILITIES
INTRODUCTION
The course will focus on the provision of inclusive recreation services for persons with
disabilities, with emphasis placed on the content areas of attitude, legislation
programming, accessibility/usability, and the characteristics and implications of varied disabling conditions.
This course offers three (3) hours of academic credit.
MID-COURSE TEST AND FINAL EXAMINATION
The student will take a Mid-Course Test and Final Examination at a physical
location in a college or university setting. Detailed instructions and
Mid-Course Test and Final Examination applications are included in the
online syllabus. Information regarding tests and procedures can be found in General Information.
INSTRUCTOR
Dr. James D. Gilbert is an associate professor of leisure management and coordinator of
leisure management. He received his B.S. and M.A. from Western Kentucky University and his Ed.D. from Northern Colorado.
